Physical therapists (PTs) are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives.

PTs examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, PTs work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

At Haulman Physical Therapy, we have advanced degrees in Orthopedics and Neurology:

An Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) is a physical therapist with advanced expertise in the evaluation, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal conditions. They are certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) and possess in-depth knowledge of orthopedic pathology, biomechanics, and evidence-based practices. An OCS is skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of orthopedic issues, including sports injuries, joint disorders, and post-surgical rehabilitation. They develop individualized treatment plans to alleviate pain, restore function, and enhance mobility through techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and patient education. Their role often involves collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

A Neurological Clinical Specialist (NCS) is a physical therapist with advanced training and certification in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with neurological conditions. Certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS), an NCS has specialized knowledge in managing disorders of the nervous system, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and other neurological disorders. They utilize evidence-based practices to design and implement personalized rehabilitation programs aimed at improving motor control, functional independence, balance, coordination, and overall quality of life. An NCS often works in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with neurologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
